Surgeon's Journal, Atlas 1819. ADM 101/6/2/1 1819 Folio 1: Diary begins with surgeon joining the ship, 12 May 1819. 21 May 1819 received 52 convicts at Woolwich, 22 and 25 May received more from Justitia hulk, totalling 156. One very sick man exchanged. Some pneumonia and diarrhoea. 9 June 1819, dropped down to Gravesend. 10 June 1819, got underway. Folios 1-2: 11 June 1819; At anchor in the Downs, prison and hospital cleaned. J Sprightley, a prisoner, admitted to hospital with severe diarrhoea. Bottle of wine received for his use.
