Louisa, Surgeon’s Journal. ADM 101/45/6/11827 Folios 14-15: case no 8, Eliza [Elizabeth] Judge, aged 23, convict, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, gastritis, of a full habit fair complexion, has been living the irregular life of a prostitute affected with scrofulous tumours in the neck; put on sick list 10 September 1827, discharged 19 September 1827 cured. This patient was repeatedly ill during the voyage with stitches low down in her sides and dyspeptic symptoms induced by irregularity in the menstrual discharged and for which the tepid [sec?] and laxative medicine were employed, recovered in a good state of health when landed.
