Prior to conviction & transportation, John was married with five children. He had one prior conviction for larceny for which he had been given 14 days imprisonment. John's oldest son, Edward, immigrated to Australia together with his wife & child in 1856.

2/8/1834: Convict Death Register - John died less than a month after arriving. He died in Sydney aged 41.
