Elizabeth Kay was convicted at Lancaster on 22/05/1838 for stealing a watch from the person. 10 yr sentence. Gaol Report: convicted before, 8 or 10 times in prison. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Majestic' arriving 21/01/1839. Ship Surgeon's Report: not good. Aged 37yrs; married - husband John Salford; house servant - can wash and milk. Died in H.M. Hospital, Launceston on 05/05/1841.
