Marriage permission records William as being transported per ship 'Rodney'. Child: Margaret WILMOTT born 20 Jan 1855 at Hobart. Mother - Margaret KEANE. Father - William WILMOTT. (ref. 33/1/5 no. 1830) Child: Mary Ann WILMOTT born 28 March 1856 at Hobart. Mother - Margaret KEANE. Father - William WILMOTT. (ref. 33/1/6 no. 1206) Child: male child WILMOTT born 10 April 1857 at Hobart.

Margaret KEANE was convicted at Waterford, Ireland on 26 Oct 1849 for Larceny - stealing clothes. Previous offences. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Blackfriar' arriving 29 May 1851. Aged 20yrs; nursegirl; single woman; Roman Catholic; 5' height; ruddy complexion; brown hair; dk blue eyes. Native place: Waterford, Ireland. Brothers: Michael, Pat & John. John is in America Sisters: Ellen & Kate (at native place). (ref. for family relatives, as recorded in Convict Indent.) Work service placements in the Colony. Several notes of misconduct. 1853: Assigned to Edward Brown, Murray St. Hobart. 1854: Assigned to Thomas Ahern. 14 Feb 1854: Ticket of Leave granted. 13 March 1854: Married William WILMOTT.
