OCCUPATION: He was a linen draper or linener - a wholesaler or retailer of linen (see https://www.familyresearcher.co.uk/). He was married to Mary Ann with two children. His wife remained at Bristol. In VDL: On 26 August 1844 he was "discharged to his Ticket of Leave". On 4 July 1848 he received a Conditional Pardon (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON34-1-3$init=CON34-1-3P475).


CRIME: Riotously destroying a house - convicted along with 11 others of this offence. All were sentenced to transportation for life. All were admitted to the prison hulk Justitia at Woolwich on 25 January 1832. He was sent on 10 February for transportation. Patrick KEARNEY was 24, born 1808, according to the hulk record (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849).
