1825 Journey. On Saturday morning (3 Dec) arrived from London and Dublin, the ship Henry Porcher, Captain John Thompson, with 175 male prisoners, having lost one man - the rest in good health. She sailed from London the 10th of July, and Dublin the 5th of August. The guard comprises a detachment of the 47th Regiment, under the orders of Captain Donaldson. The Surgeon Superintendent is Dr. CARTER, R. N. Sydney Gazette, 5 Dec 1825.

Text type Trial account Defendants THOMAS KEEN, WILLIAM KING, JAMES DARMAN Offences Theft > Simple larceny Session Date 20th February 1834 Reference Number t18340220-31 Verdicts Guilty, Guilty, Guilty Punishments Transportation 348. THOMAS KEEN , WILLIAM KING , and JAMES DARMAN , were indicted for stealing, on the 13th of January , 1 basket of eggs, value 2s.; and 150 eggs, value 10s. , the goods of Godfrey Thurgood . GEORGE STONE (police-constable C 99). On the 13th of January, about three o'clock in the afternoon, I was in Leicester-square; I saw the three prisoners, and watched them for two hours, or more; they had then got to Titchfield-street ; King there took a flat basket from Mr. Thurgoods's window, and put it on Keen's head; he walked off; I went after him, and took him with him; Darman had a white apron on, which he took off and gave to Keen before the basket was taken. THOMAS HOBBS (police-constable C 85). I was with Stone; I saw Darman take off his cap and put it on Keen's head, and the white apronr round him, to make him look like a butter-man. ROBERT CURREY . I am a turner - I was asked by the officers to assist in taking the prisoners. GODFREY THURGOOD . This is my basket; I lost it full of eggs that day. KEEN GUILTY . Aged 19. KING GUILTY . Aged 19. DARMAN GUILTY . Aged 16. Transported for Seven Years .
