His co-accused, Thomas North, was only sentenced to whipping and prison, and never appeared in NSW later for any other crime. 1814 NSW Muster - Landholder; Residence: Liverpool Mustered at Liverpool, off stores.


JAMES KELLY transported for seven years for stealing after being found guilty at the Dublin Quarter Sessions of July 1791: "Freemans Journal, 19 July 1791, p.3 “On Thursday last the Quarter Sessions of the county of Dublin began before Robert Day, Esq.,Chairman, and a very full Bench of Justices. After a very feasible and instructive charge to the Grand Jury from the Chair, the court proceeded immediately to the dispatch of business. The following persons, amongst others, were found guilty and sentenced accordingly, viz: “JAMES KELLY and THOMAS NORTH, for breaking open and stealing out of the stable of Mr Eades a bridle value 5 shillings, his property, Guilty. "Kelly to the value of 4s 9d and North to the value of 10d. “The former [Kelly] to be transported, the latter [North] to be twice whipped and imprisoned a month.” NOte: Another James Kelly was also sentenced in Dublin in 1791 to 7 years transportation, and he arrived on "Sugar Cane" _________________________________________________
