The 1825 Journey. The ship Mariner, Captain Fotherley, arrived from Ireland with female prisoners, on Sunday evening. She left the Cove of Cork, the 12th of March, and brings 112 female prisoners, having lost only one on the passage. A few passengers also came per this opportunity. The Sydney Herald (NSW : 1831 - 1842) View title info Mon 13 Aug 1832 . Page 2 LAW INTELLIGENCE. THURSDAY.-Before Judge Dowling, and the usual Commission. Edward Kennedy was indicted for a highway robbery, in assaulting and putting in bodily fear J. J. Moore, Esq. and stealing from his person one watch, one gold chain, two seals, one key, and one pencil case, at Cabramatta, on the 1st June. The prisoner was found guilty on the most satisfactory evidence, and two witnesses, named Grounds and his wife, were fully committed to take their trial for willful and corrupt perjury. Edward Kennedy, John Dunn, and William Halfpenny, were jointly indicted for a highway robbery, in assaulting and putting in bodily fear George Stephens, and stealing from him a cloak, a coat, and a pair of pistols, the property of Dr. Charles Fattorini, at Parramatta, on the 1st June. Kennedy guilty. The other prisoners were acquitted, but remanded to take their trials on another information. Edward Kennedy was again indicted for a highway robbery, in assaulting and putting in bodily fear Patrick Neville, and stealing from him two quarts of rum, two ounces of tobacco, one apron, ten shillings, and twenty pence in copper, on the Liverpool road, on the 4th June. The prisoner was again found guilty, it being the third conviction, and was called up for judgment, when the learned Judge passed upon him the awful sentence of death. --------------------
