The convict indentures state that Mary Anne Kenney was 19 years old. She could read and write; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of Galway. She was a laundress. Mary Anne was convicted of stealing a quilt at Clare in April 1837 and sentenced to 7 years. She had one prior convictions and served 3 months. Physical attributes: Height 4 feet 11 1/2 inches; complexion ruddy; hair dark brown and eyes dark blue. Transport number 29. Prisoner number 29-38. Received Certificate of Freedom in 1844 (number 44/1803).
