Mary KEOGH was convicted at Tipperary, Ireland on 19 July 1850 for larceny - stealing money. Previous conviction for similar. 10 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Blackfriar' arriving 29 May 1851. Aged 30 yrs; kitchenmaid; single woman; Roman Catholic; not literate; 5'3 3/4" height; dark complexion; dark brown hair; blue eyes. Native place of birth: Co. Kilkenny, Ireland. Mother: Ellen Brother: Phoenix - in America Sister: Ann - at Waterford, Ireland (ref. for above inf., as recorded upon arrival in Colony) Colony of VDL: Various assignments in the Hobart district. MARRIAGE: 8 Nov 1852: Mary KEOGH (KEHOE), aged 32 yrs, servant married Richard GREEN, aged 26 yrs, a miner. At. St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hobart. (ref. 37/1/11 no. 737) 8 May 1855: Ticket of Leave granted. 16 Sept 1856: Conditional Pardon approved.
