Mary KERINS was convicted at Mayo, Ireland on 10 Oct 1850 for stealing a sheep. Previous conviction. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Blackfriar' arriving 29 May 1851. Aged 25yrs; single; laundress; 5'3 3/4"; Roman Catholic. Native Place - Co. Mayo Assignments of work services in the Colony. 29 Oct 1852: Delivered of a male child - Charles - at the Female Factory, Cascades, Hobart. (ref. Convict Conduct Record book) 8 Aug 1854: Ticket of Leave granted. Application for permission to marry: 16 Sept 1854: to Daniel LYNCH (transported per 'Blenheim'). Approved. Marriage: 13 Feb 1855 - married Daniel Lynch. Hobart. Aged 38yrs; widower; farmer. (ref. 37/1/13 no. 769). Note: Mary is registered as "Margaret" Kerins. 15 Jan 1856: Conditional Pardon granted.
