In March 1827 Isabella Kerr or Gray along with Allan Grant, James Kenny Stewart and Mary Muirhead (transported on same ship Louisa) stood trial at Edinburgh High Court of Justiciary. They were originally charged with the January 1827 murder of a Mark Dow, but were only convicted of theft from the deceased. The circumstances are outlined in the Convict Record of Allan Grant (transported for Life on 24 May 1827 ship Champion.
