The following eight prisoners were capitally convicted, and received sentence of Death, but were reprieved before the Judge left the town. George Kidd, 22, for feloniously entering dwelling-house of Henry Nye, Hurstperpoint, and stealing from thence two gold rings, fourteen silver spoons, and pair of plated sugar tongs, his five pound notes, his money, and divers articles of wearing apparel, the property of Thomas Moon; Hampshire Chronicle, 1 April 1816.
