Court and date of trial: Cambridge [Cambridgeshire] Summer Assizes, 25 June 1833. Crime: Horse stealing - stealing a pony, property of David Wray, surgeon and apothecary. Initial sentence: Transportation for life. Gaoler's report: Kidman before convicted of poaching, Stamford a reputed thief. Annotated: In New South Wales; Nil. Petitioner(s): David Wray (prosecutor), of St Peters Street, Cambridge. Grounds for clemency: The prisoners were previously of unimpeachable character; their aged parents have approached the victim for his help in petitioning for their sons.
