John KILLEN was tried and convicted at Lancaster 16 Jul 1827 for stealing silver spoons - 7 yr sentence. He was transported on the 'Manlius (1)' departing 29/07/1828, arriving van Diemens Land (Tasmania) 09/11/1828. Single. Worked last for Clegg Williamson & Pringle, Edgehill. Hulk Report - Orderly. Colonial Offences: 28/02/1819 Disobedience of Orders - 1mth Chain Gang, Oatlands. 02/07/1829 Disobedience of Orders and general laziness - Chain Gang St. Peters Pass. Absconded from St. Peters Pass. 13/07/.. Stealing and killing 1 wether sheep in (with Samuel Jones)the district of Oatlands, the property of Capt. George Robson.
