TRIED: 8 April 1834 for stealing a quantity of iron (he describes it in his VDL Conduct Record as "old iron", and stated he had been "four or five times imprisoned before - twice for felonies, twice for assaults and once for highway robbery of which he was acquitted). His native place was Newbury (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON18-1-10$init=CON18-1-10p142). VDL Conduct Record: In 1839, his existing term of transportation was extended by 2 years. A further notation says he was not to be assigned "in or near Launceston". Granted a Ticket of Leave in September 1841 (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-26$init=CON31-1-26p127).
