Family connections for John (Kinsey) are: Some amendments added Aug 2025. KINSEY ??? (Kinsey) produced perhaps 2children: 1.James (Kinsey) was born about 1777 & became a labourer. He was tried w/3others including his brother John for demanding arms, on 21 11 1806, of Robert (Armstrong) of Oghill at Sligo Ireland in Decenber 1806, sentenced to 7years, variously named (Kinsey/Kinzy) & arrived in NSW as a convict with his brother on 27 7 1807 after a voyage of 7months on DUKE OF PORTLAND; he was Catholic; he used the name (McKenzie) in NSW. He was issued his Certificate of Freedom no.5/1292 on 3 1 1814; he was 5'6" clear ruddy complexion black hair black eyes. On 30 6 1814 while he was at Caddie he was granted land. In November 1820 he was subjected to a burglary at his house at Windsr, as was his brother. In November 1820 he was subjected to a burglary & violence. He is recorded in 1828 Free by Servitude as farme at Caddi Pitt Town. In 1839 he was owner of 50acres at Catti/ai Creek. HO-9-8-3 page 16/51. Hulk records at Portsmouth show that on 15 Jan 1807, 11 convicts arrived from Dublin, whose names are given, but with no further information. The same day these 11 men were embarked on board the Duke of Wellington. “Received eleven from Dublin 15 Jan 1807. Bartholomew Biglane Archibald Biglane Jas Kinsey John Kinsey Patrick Hart Patrick Harrydon Patrick Flynn Michael Grant Wm Cortellon Connell All Sent on board the Duke of Portland, 15 Jan 1807.”

Patrick Hart, Bartholomew Bighlane, Archibold Biglane, James Kinzy, and John Kinzy, were indicted, for that they on the 21st of November, 1806, at Oghill, in the county of Sligo, did feloniously in a forcible manner, demand fire arms from Robert Armstrong, with intent feloniously to rob him thereof, against peace and statute.
