Real name john KITTO From the research of Roger Fearnside: John Kittoe was born 13/2/1774 at Gwennap, Cornwall, he was the son of William Kittoe and Joyce Barrett. 5/3/1803: Married Elizabeth Picken (6/11/1785-C1835). They had 4 children, John (who became Dr. John Kitto (Doctor of Divinity)., William, Elizabeth, Mary Ann. John was a mason, and lived in Holy Cross Lane in Plymouth Charles in 1813. Mason and hellier of Holy Cross Lane Plymouth, Dev in 1814 Plymouth directory. Prior convictions for stealing leads sentence 12 months, then about 1823 of 7 years for stealing lead, served 6 years on the York Hulk transported for 1 year. Convicted at Plymouth on 12 Jan 1835 for stealing a brass lock, sentenced to 7 years. John was 5 ft 4 ½ in, hazel eyes, grey hair (at 51y) freckled. 1835 Muster: Public Works – to be worked on the roads. 13/9/1839: TOL 11/3/1840: John died at the H M Colonial Hospital, Launceston, Tasmania.
