15/4/1839 Cheltenham Journal and Gloucestershire Fashionable Weekly Gazette Gloucestershire, England: Josiah Knight, 23, pleaded guilty to burglariously breaking open the dwelling-house of James Burton, at Marshfield, on the night of the 2d March, and aslo to a second indictment charging him with having been previously convicted. Fifteen years' transportation. Josiah Knight was 24 years old on arrival - born: Langley. Josiah was 5'8½" tall, sallow complexion, light brown hair, blue eyes, anchor and boot left arm, scar left thumb, single. 30/12/1842: Was a constable. 8/8/1846: TOL 31/7/1846: Permission to marry Caroline White (Tasmania). 21/9/1846: Married Caroline White, 30, a prisoner and servant, Josiah was 30, a shoemaker with a TOL - married at St Matthew's church, Clarence Plains. No children listed. 19/8/1848: TOL Oct. 1849: Recomended for a CP Mar. 1851: CP Aug. 1856: Was a boot maker, working for Mr. Stamford, a tanner at Deloraine, Tas.
