N.B. There are two persons named "William Knight" on this sailing of the 'Princess Charlotte' 1824. William KNIGHT (Identifier 1) was convicted at Gloucester, England on 31 March 1824 for receiving stolen property. Gaol report: "very bad character". 14 yr transportation sentence. Hulk report: "orderly". Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship "Princess Charlotte" 1824. Single man. Colony of VDL: Assigned to work service. 1827: sent to Prison Barracks. 1832: Ticket of Leave granted. 1832: Employed by Mr. Salmon - neglect of duty. 14 days on Tread Wheel. Last notation made in 1834.
