Lacy, age 24. 18 February, Vulnus cum tendinum divisione. Whilst carrying an earthen vessel she fell & broke it into many pieces some of which inflicted several simple wounds on the arms & hands. On the dorsal side of the left hand the integuments, and two extensor tendons were divided by a transverse wound, 3 inches in extent; the metacarpel bone of the middle finger was fissured & its periosteum lacerated. Dressed the wounds simply; having placed the fore arm & hand on a splint, & supported them by a sling. ..... Wound healed by 7 March, but no power of extending the 1st & 2nd fingers.

Mary Ann LACY was convicted at Salford on 21 July 1823 for pick pocketing. Previous offences. Life sentence. Transported to Australia per the ship "Brothers", first to New South Wales and then transferred to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania). Work services in the Colony of Van Diemen's Land. Numerous records of misconduct and punishments, including being sent to the Female Factory. 11 Jan 1829: Married Alexander HUDSON, free but transported to Colony per "Dromedary". District of Patersons Plains, County of Cornwall (now Longford, nr Launceston). Ref. 36/1/1 no. 1312. Absconded from her husband as she stated he had ill treated her. 15 Jan 1846: Conditional Pardon approved. 20 Jan 1846: Pardon approved for any Country except Europe.
