Tasmania Police Gazette, 12th Jan 1872, p7. Discharged prisoner from Gaol, during the weeks ending 6 & 10 April 1872. At Launceston, Charles Lakin, per Equestrian 1, F.S., tried at Westbury on 5 Jan 1872 for larceny, sentenced to 3 months, native of Warwickshire, 48 yrs, 5 feet 5 inches, grey hair.
