William Lamb was transported on the Recovery, departing 5th Apr 1823 and arriving 30th Jul 1823 with 169 passengers.

Built 1799 Batavia, 493 tons. 1823 voyage. Also arrived the same morning, (i.e. Thursday last) from Ireland, having sailed from the Cove of Cork on the 5th April, the ship Recovery, Captain Fotherley, with 180 male convicts, in tolerable health : no deaths on the passage. Surgeon Superintendent, Dr. Cunningham, R. N. The guard comprises a detachment of the 1st, or Royals, commanded by Captain Gill, who is accompanied by his Lady. Three free passengers come out by this conveyance, at the expence of the Crown. Sydney Gazette, Thurs 7 Aug 1823. 1835 voyage. Surgeon's general remarks. On 5th October 1835, the Guard embarked at Deptford, consisting of 1 staff, 1 subaltern, 2 sergeants, 1 drummer, 26 rank and file of the 28th Regiment, accompanied by 8 women and 4 children. On the 19th at Spithead we received on board 160 male convicts from the Leviathan and 120 from the York Hulk and in the 30th got under weigh, previous to which, the convicts were discharged to the hulks in consequence of their being a great nuisance on board. Cork Assizes. - William Lamb, for stealing horse and gelding the I4th of July last at Bridepark, the property of the Rev John Macbeth -Guilty —Death. Roscommon and Leitrim Gazette. The High Sheriff of the County Cork has received a respite from the Lord Lieutenant for the following, under sentence of death :—Denis Duggan and William Lamb, for horse-stealing ; John Cahill, for murder; also, for Walter Fitzmaurice, alias Captain Rock, whose unfortunate comrade Costello, was hanged on Saturday. Saunders’ News-Letter, 11 Sep 1822.

William Lamb and Denis Duggan ... found guilty of Horse-stealing (Finn Leinster Journal, 31 August 1822 page 2) August 1823 - On list of convicts landed from the "Recovery" & forwarded to Parramatta for distribution. 1824 - Petition to have family brought out at Govmnt expense "That Memorialist left in Ireland a wife and four children residing in the Parish of Kilmalee, County Tipperary, whom he could support in this colony. "That his statement is correct he begs leave to refer to Capt Matthew Jacob, JP, and the Rev Lawrence Burk, P.P of Kilmalee, Said County. "therefore prays you will take his case into your kind consideration and procure for his family a free passage to NSW" "The statement of memorialisit is, in my opinion, correct" Signed john Joseph Therry.
