The Convict Indentures state that Daniel Lane was 23 years old.  He could read and write; he was single; religion Roman Catholic and a native of Country Cork.  His occupation was a reaper.  He was convicted of stealing slates on 28 March 1828.  He was sentenced to 7 years and had no prior convictions.  Physical attribute 5 feet 0 inches; complexion ruddy and freckled; hair brown to grey and eyes grey.  Transport number 57.
He was assigned to Mr Edwin Goodwin.  Could not read place name.
