JAMES LANE was indicted for the wilful murder of John Lane, his son, by inflicting blows, throwing him with violence to the ground, and in one count with not providing sufficient food for him. The evidence went to show, that on Friday, the 23rd of April last, the prisoner was in a field at work, and the boy was in a ditch.
