Further research has failed to establish any familial connection with Jeremiah Joseph Lane (arrived Oct 1862 on Champion of the Seas) and his brother Michael (arrived Nov 1860 on Empress of the Seas).

Jeremiah LANE arrived Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Neptune' 1850. He was granted a Conditional Pardon upon arrival.

Two sons (Jeremiah and Michael) migrated from Ireland in 1862 and set up a cartage business in Bendigo. Jeremiah (senior) married Margaret Eleanor Spooner in Melbourne in 1852 - they had 10 children (4 sons, 6 daughters). Lived on farm at Cobram in Northern Victoria.
