The following information comes from ?Robert Fletcher. Thomas William Wood LANE Birth : abt 1812 - Painswick,Gloucestershire Death : 15 April 1890 - 159 Campbell Street, Surry Hills, Sydney. Thomas was charged at Gloucester in 1832 with burglary, along with his mother She was acquitted, Thomas was transported for 7 years. Calendar of Prisoners in the county gaol for trial at the Michaelmas sessions 1832. Thomas Lane, committed 27 September 1831, by Sir William Hicks, Baronet R. Bransby Cooper, Esquire William Hicks, Clerk, and Thomas Newell, Esquire charged on the oaths of Benjamin Turnbull and others, with having, in the night of the 6th day of September instant, at the parish of Cheltenham, feloniously and burglariously broken and entered the dwelling - house of the said Benjamin Turnbull, and stolen, taken, and carried away therefrom 40 gold seals, 50 gold rings and brooches, one silver watch, 4 smelling - bottles with gold tops, and other articles, the property of the said Benjamin Turnbull. Convict Ship : Heroine. Arrived Port Jackson, Sydney 19 September 1833.
