Old Bailey: DAVID LATHAM. Theft: theft from a specified place. 9th January 1788 Verdict Guilty > lesser offence Sentence Transportation DAVID LATHAM was indicted for stealing, on the 8th of January, twenty-four pair of worsted stockings, value 20 s. the property of James Deans, privately in his warehouse. PRISONER's DEFENCE. I know nothing of the robbery; my trial came on so soon, I could send for none of my friends; I am innocent. GUILTY, Of stealing, but not privately. Transported for seven years. 9/11/1793: Burial date - David/Davy Latham died in Sydney and was buried at the Old Sydney Burial Ground.
