James Latham was first indicted for an offence on 26/9/1837 for stealing a waistcoat, value 5s., the goods of James Franklin, found guilty but no sentence recorded. Then indicted again on the same day 23/10/1837 was also indicted for stealing on the 25/8/1837, a watchfrom Benjamin Lancaster. James was the brother-in-law of Benjamin's wife, he was found guilty and transported for 7 years. James was 32 years old. 1842: TOL Port Macquarie 7/11/1844: COF.
