Convict Notes
Laurence Dunlea was found Guilty of having coining instruments in his house in Clonmel. Clonmel Herald, 3 Nov 1832.
Lawrence was married to his first wife Margaret in 1831. Margaret arrived in the colony on 11 February, 1836 on the "James Pattison". Lawrence and Margaret had a daughter named Elizabeth Margaret Dunlay in about 1838 near Goulburn, NSW. After this there is No Record of Margaret or what happened to her. Lawrence married his second wife Bridget McCormick and they settled in Yass.
Lawrence Dunlay was 24 years old when transported. He was married. 1841: TOL Goulburn 1/6/1848: CP 1842: Married Bridget McCormick at Goulburn. They had 4 children. (Listed as Dunley) 14/6/1867: Son Laurence Dunlay was charged with robbing a German man named Brandle, under arms, robbing him of a gun and a watch - sent for trial at Yass. His father was dead and his mother had no means of support. 1865: Laurence Snr. died at Yass.
