At the Yorkshire assizes, which were opened on Saturday last, the following persons have been capitally convicted :— John Wragg, Thos. Baxter, Rich. Newton, and Luke Laycock, for a burglary at Sheffield ; ... Newcastle Courant, 3 Aug 1816. BURGLARY AT SHEFFIELD. John Wragg, aged 19, ... Newton, aged 17, and Luke Laycock, aged 17, were charged with burglariously entering the dwelling-house of Mr. George Lief, of Sheffield, on the night of the 7th of April, and stealing therefrom a a large quantity of watches and a number of jewellery articles. ...
