Stephen Le Busque was transported on the Andromeda, departing 16th Oct 1826 and arriving 23rd Feb 1827 with 147 passengers.
Also, same day, from Cork, whence she sailed May 25th, the ship Andromeda, 401 tons, Benjamin Gales master, with 173 female prisoners; Henry Kelsawl, Esq., Surgeon-superintendant. Passengers — Fourteen free females, viz. Mary Manning, Martha Morron, Margaret Mahon, Margaret Sheedy, Mary Ann Nixon alias Welsh, Catherine Kiernan, Mary Cassock, Catherine Stanton, Johanna Neville, Mary Lyons alias Hynes, Maria Moran, Catherine O'Donnel, Margaret Kennedy, and Mary Sullivan, and twenty-six children; also twenty-three children belonging to the prisoners. Stephen Le Busque (De Busk) was born in 1803 Sheffield Yorkshire to John & Mary De Busk née France. He was christened at Cathedral St Peter, Sheffield on 28 Sep 1803. He was charged with burglariouslt breaking into the dwelling house of William Ling at Little Chester, and stealing a churn dash, a bottle of porter and a dish. Judgement handed down was death . This was later commuted to Life. He was assigned to Henry Clayton of Norfolk Plains (Distribution lists ML ref: A10593 p 125) According to the census Stephen worked for James Cos esq. at Marion Villa at George Town between 1842 and 1851. In 1854 the family moved to Victoria and Stephen died Melbourne 21 May 1855 cause of death: Debility. No burial place was recorded on the certificate




Tried at Derby Assizes 15/07/1826 for burglary. Arrived at Hobart 23/02/1827 Conditional pardon 24/05/1839 Married Maria Pitt, daughter of a Hobart Publican on 3/10/1836. Dude in Melbourne 20/07/1860.
