CONVICT DEPARTMENT. Comptroller-General's Office, August 21, 1848. In accordance with the Act of Council 6th Victoria, No. 18, I hereby give notice, for the first time, that His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor has been pleased to approve of the solemnization of Matrimony between the under-mentioned parties :— William Norman, free, and Mary Ann Le Noble, Elizabeth and Henry, in private service, both residing in Hobart Town. Marie Le Noble took to caring for the children of widowed William Norman shortly after his wife, Sarah Watts, passed away. Marie Le Noble was firstly employed, then married William Norman on 04.09.1848 in Hobart. They moved to Launceston where she continued to steal and forge cheques then they moved to George's Bay where William bought a property. On his death she married John Morton Matthews. Marie died in the early 1900's at an asylum in New Norfolk
Marie Le Noble married William Norman and became my STEP GG Grandmother, STEP mother of Sarah Ann Norman who married Thomas Cook, they were the parents of Caroline Cook who then married Alfred Brooks, they were the parents of Albert Leslie Brooks my Grandfather, he married Adeline Louisa Nicolle.
