Martin Leaden was tried at Bombay Court Martial on 8/11/1848 for "Striking Corporal Martin of the 78th Highlanders". Martin was 23 years old, 5'10" tall, dark complexion, black hair and whiskers, hazel eyes, single, deeply pockmarked, C feint inside right arm, leech marks side of body, native place - Roscommon. 2/11/1851: Sent to Port Arthur. 21/11/1851: Sent to Norfolk Island. 5/2/1853: Hobart Barracks. 23/2/1853: Assigned to Young - Glenorchy. 8/7/1854: Died at Glenorchy of apoplexy.
