On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. Sydney Gazette, Sat 7 Jun 1817. -------------------------------------------------- Convicts who sailed on the 'Mary' direct from Ireland - 1819 & 1836 - are currently being listed, incomplete data to date.

1825, 23 June: Daniel LEARY per Mary (1) was granted a Certificate of Freedom “during the last week”, as per a notice in the Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser, page 3 (see Trove at https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/2184166?searchTerm=Daniel Leary). 1828, 20 February: Daniel LEARY granted another Certificate of Freedom #28/122 (see below). 1837, 19 April: Daniel LEARY granted a replacement Certificate of Freedom #37/325, “in lieu of Cert 28/122 dated 20th February 1828 now returned mutilated”. Labourer; native place Co Cork; born 1792; 5’2¼”, ruddy complexion, brown hair and hazel eyes (see NSW, Australia, Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1814, 1827-1867; Butts of Certificates of Freedom 1837, April).
