Family connections for James (Ledwich) are: LEDWICH James (Ledwich/k/Lutwicke/Ledwidge/wich/wk) was born about 1796 probably in Meath Ireland & became a labourer. He was tried at Meath co. Ireland, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 8 4 1816 after a voyage of 4months on GUILDFORD; he was sent to Liverpool for distribution on 15 4 1816. He married Ruth (Phelps) on 23 6 1817 at St Lukes CofE Liverpool. He was issued his Ticket of Leave (perhaps no.26 145 for Sydney) in February 1823 and assigned as servant to his wife. He was issued further Tickets of Leave-nos.27/27 for Sydney, 31/138 for Patricks Plains & 34/371 for Bong Bong; & his Conditional Pardon no.44/170 on 1 5 1843. [Some details taken from this Website] Ruth (Phelps) is recorded as born in 1800s. She is recorded in February 1823 at Airds with her assigned husband.
