His Mum was Lucy Smith and his dad was Reverend Thomas Lee the Pastor of Over Baptist Church in Cambridgeshire UK. It appears that Lucy died the Year of Benjamin's birth, and Thomas remarried. Benjamin lived in a small village called Colmworth in Bedfordshire and married Jemima Lugsden in 1796 on 21st March. Two of his sons, James & Samuel were taken to Tasmania, Australia in 1836.
