Family connections for Elizabeth (Lee) are: LEE Elizabeth (Lee/Johnson) was born on 7 9 1771 at Lancaster Lancashire. She was tried for stealing a grey cloak with force of arms, on 30 11 1789, of her employer Elizabeth (Buckley), for whom she worked as shop assistant or domestic servant, at Manchester Epiphany Quarter Sessions Lancashire on 21 1 1790, sentenced to 7years, held at Lancaster Castle & arrived in NSW as a convict on 9 7 1791 after a voyage of 6months on Fleet ship MARY ANN. She married Thomas (Eather) in 1791 at (St Johns CofE?) Parramatta & produced 8children. She was Free by Servitude by 1804. She is recorded in 1828 as householder at Windsor with a son. She died on 11 6 1860 age89 at Richmond. [Some details taken from this Website] Thomas (Eather) does not have an entry on this Website as yet; although Thomas (Heather) does. Thomas (Eather/Heather) was born on 15 7 1764 at Bexley London. He was tried at Kent Assizes in March 1788 for highway robbery at Chislehurst Kent, sentenced to death reprieved to 14years, held on hulk JUSTITIA on the Thames at Woolwich London from 15 5 1789-where he laboured on the docks-& arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 6 1790 after a voyage of 7months on Fleet ship NEPTUNE; a voyage noted for extreme brutality of prisoners with a high death rate. He was Free by Servitude by 1804. He was recorded on 23 11 1816 as (Eagar/Heather) landholder at Hawksbury, By 1818 he & his family lived in a five roomed house in George Street Windsor. In 1822 he was farming 21acres. He died on 22 3 1827 age62 at Windsor & buried at St Matthews CofE Windsor. Elizabeth married one Thomas Eather at Parramatta, in 1791. Thomas was a convict; Neptune, 1790. They had 8 children. Thomas died in 1827. In the 1828 Census of New South Wales, [Ref: E0534] Ether, Elizabeth, 55, Mary Ann, 1790, Householder at Windsor. One of her younger children, John, aged 23 is living with her. Some of her other children are also listed in the census, separately.

In 1789 when Elizabeth LEE ( sometimes known as Elizabeth Johnson) was about 17, she was employed by Elizabeth BUCKLEY as either a domestic servant or shop assistant. On 4 December of that year Elizabeth LEE was arrested and committed by T H BAILEY for trial on the charge of "having stolen and carried away a grey cloak out of the dwelling house of Elizabeth BUCKLEY of Manchester". The trial was at the Epiphany Quarter Sessions at Manchester 21 January 1790 - "Indictment charges that Elizabeth LEE late of the Parish of Manchester in the said County Single woman on the thirtieth day of November in the thirtieth year of the reign of our Lord George the third now King of Great Britain and so forth with force and Arms at the Parish aforesaid in the County aforesaid one Woman's Cloak to the value of six pence of the proper Goods and Chattels of one Elizabeth BUCKLEY then and there being found feloniously did steal and take and carry away against the Peace of our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity" - sentence 7 years. Elizabeth LEE was returned to the goal in the Lancaster Castle and incarcerated there until February 1791. She was then conveyed from Lancaster to the ship "Mary Ann" at Gravesend on the Thames River. The ship sailed to Portsmouth under the command of Captain MUNRO and departed from there for the voyage to the NSW Colony 23 February 1791. She arrived in Sydney on 7 July 1791
