John Lee at Hobart Town, per Mount Stuart Elphinstone, F.S., Offence-larceny, sentence-4 months, native place-Lancashire, trade-baker, age 58 yrs, 5 feet 1 inch high. Tasmania Police Gazette, 23rd June 1871, p104. Prisoner discharged from H M Gaols, Hobart & Launceston, week ending 18 Oct 1871 and 14 Oct 1871. George Oldham alias John Lee, per Mount Stuart Elphinstone, F.S., tried at Hobart, on 13 June 1871, for larceny, received 4 months, native place is Lancashire, age 58 yrs, 5 feet 0 1/2 inches high, greyish hair, right thumb injured.
