Native Place: Essex. William was illiterate, protestant, a widower, no children listed, he was 5'2½" tall, dark sallow complexion, brown and thin in front hair, blue eyes, lost a front tooth left side of upper jaw, scar back of forefinger of right hand, two scars back of middle finger of left hand.
