Bury and Norwich Post Suffolk, England 7 Apr 1824. SUFFOLK LENT ASSIZES. John Levett, aged 20, Benjamin Howlett, aged 24, and Robert Hensby, aged 25, were indicted for burglariously stealing a great coat and a pair of gloves from the dwelling-house of Benjamin Leach, shopkeeper, of Moulton, and for cruelly beating and ill treating him. Sentence of Death was passed upon Howlett, and recorded against Levett and Hensby. No ship found for Benjamin Howlett - Robert Hensby was also on board Mangles. John Levett was 20 years old on arrival. Native Place: Suffolk. John was 5'7¾" tall, hazel grey eyes, brown hair, pale complexion, not well on arrival. Assigned to John Coghill Esq. 1833: Married Abigail Brown (came free per 'Defiance, aged 18) at Cobbity, Narellan, NSW. 1 son - John Henry "Harry' Lovatt 1833-1870. John 'LEVITT' applied for permission to marry in 1836 - he was 31, a widower and had a TOL. 1836: Married Mary Ann Clarke (born in Colony) at Bungonia, Goulburn. 1837: Vine Julia Levett 1840: Emeline Levett 1843: Josiah 1850: William Charles 1853: Arthur Wellesley 1856: Adelong Victoria Eugenie 1872: John Levett died - Registered at Tumut, NSW.
