Possible family connections for Edward (Lindsey) are: Some amendments added Jun 2025. LINDSEY CCONVICT Edward (Lindsey) was born about 1765. He was tried at Surrey Assizes on 25 7 1796, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW on 18 5 1798 after a voyage of 8.5monyhs on BARWELL. He married firstly Jane (Martin) on 3 2 1803 at St James CofE Sydney. He was recorded in 1806 at Parramatta.>>> Jane (Martin) was tried at Waterford Ireland, sentenced to 7years arrived in NSW as a convict on 7 7 1802 after a voyage of 7months on ATLAS. She died on 25 2 1803 & was buried as Mrs Jane (Lindsay) at St James CofE Sydney. [Some details taken from this Website] .. >>>Edward (Lindsey) was a basket weaver when he married secondly Catherine (Turner age12 her first marriage) on 20 9 1810 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He was recorded in 1814 on stores as basket weaver with his family. He died on 7 4 1818 age 53 & was buried next day at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She married firstly Edward (Lindsey) on 20 9 1810 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She was recorded in 1814 off stores with her family. She had a second relationship with John (Boxley his second relationship) & produced 2children. She produced perhaps 6children in her lifetime. Edward (Lindsey) & Catherine (Turner) produced 4children: ..1.Jane (Lindsey) was born on 14 7 1810 & baptised on 9 2 1812 age18m at St Phillips CofE Sydney. ..2.Jane Margaret (Lindsey) was born on 14 7 1811 & baptised on 11 8 1811 at St Philips CofE Sydney. She was recorded in 1814 off stores with her family. She produced a child with an unknown: ....1.Sarah (???)Lindsey) was born on 7 12 1830 & baptised on13 2 1831 at Phillips CofE Sydney. ..3.Joseph Robert (Lindsey) was born on 12 10 1813 & baptised on 21 11 1813 at st Phillips ofE Sydney. She was recorded in 1814 off stores with her family. ..4.William (Lindsey) was born on 6 3 1816 & baptised on 4 5 1817 age14m at St Phillips CofE Sydney. 1796-1798 - Edward Lindsey was tried at the Surrey Assizes on 25/07/1796 & was given a life term. He reached Sydney on 18/05/1798 as a convict on the ship Barwell.
