On Saturday last Ash Long, alias Chickens, was committed to the City Gaol, by J. H. Cole, Esq. charged with having, during the preceding nitrht, broken into the fowl-house of J. H. Yallop, Esq. of Eaton, and carried away 11 chickens, his property. Bury and Norwich Post, 3 Mar 1813 Sessions News. Ash Long, notorious fowl-stealer, was convicted of stealing fowls from J. H. Yallop, Esq. and sentenced to seven years' transportation Norfolk Chronicle, 1 May 1813. On Monday last Ash Long and John Gallard, convicts in our gaol, were removed from thence to the hulks at Woolwich, preparatory to their transportation for 7 years to New South Wales.
