When Baptized; 7 Aug 1833 Childs Christian Name; Mary Parents Name; Mary Lonsdale. Ship Name; Hydery By whom the Ceremony was performed; Wm Bedford. Senior Chaplain.

The following female convicts left our county prison on Sunday se/nnight :—Mary Ann Room, Catherine Chell, Catherine Martin, Ann Bowen, Mary Lonsdale, Priscilla Jones, and Ann Sims, for the ship Hydery, at Woolwich, and Mary Smith, convicted of robbing Mr. Thomas Tharnie, at Stone, for the Penitentiary at Millbank. Staffordshire Advertiser, 31 Mar 1832.

The 1878 death cert (Reg no. 11355/1878) of Geelong woman Harriet Hale says that she was 45, born in Tasmania, that her father was carpenter John Crutch and her mother was Mary, maiden name Lonsdale. When Harriet married James Hale, she did so under the name Harriett Davison, Davison being the name of the man who married Mary Lonsdale in Dec 1833.

Before her time was up, on 16/12/1833, Mary married another convict Charles Davison (6/6/1802 -17/3/1872) and had two children Eliza (22/1/1835) and Fanny (22/9/1836 New Norfolk VDL). Government report bad. Nov 20 1837 Found with a man in her house on Saturday night at half past eleven. Given she was married with two children at this date the charge is intriguing.
