Text type Trial account Defendants ALEXANDER LORAINE Offences Violent Theft > Highway robbery Session Date 30th April 1794 Reference Number t17940430-47 Verdicts Guilty Punishments Death 275. ALEXANDER LORAINE was indicted for feloniously making an assault, on the King's high way, on Walter William Salts , on the 6th of January , putting him in fear, and feloniously taking from his person, and against his will, a silver watch, value 2l. the goods of the said Walter William Salts . Prisoner. I have nothing to say, I leave it all to my counsel. GUILTY . Death . (Aged 35.) Tried by the first Middlesex Jury before Lord KENYON. Punishment summary Death Respited 6 June 1794 pardoned 7 June 1794 to be Transported for life.
