1844 - UK, Royal Navy Medical Journals, Name; Mary Lovitt aged abt 2. Taken ill at sea Placed on Sick List; 4 May 1844 Disease; Scrofula with marasmus DIED; 2 June 1844. Surgeon's notes; A convict's child of an exceedingly delicate and emaciated appearance with a sallow face and anxious expression. Disease; Scrofula [a disease with glandular swellings, probably a form of tuberculosis. ] Offence; Stealing a silk handkerchief. Trade; House maid and wash & iron.
