In 1778 John Lovelace was sentenced to be hanged and dissected, for the wilful murder of one Johann Jurgen Ries, but his execution was stayed until June 5. He came up again until 1781 but was then no longer mentioned. 7/4/1788 Salisbury and Winchester Journal Wiltshire, England: At the assizes for Somerset, held at Taunton, Thomas Whitnell, John Lovelace, and John Evans, alias Stiles, alias Giles, for breaking open and robbing the house of Charles Durston.
