Robert Lowther was the son of William Lowther and Sarah Maskall. 1843: TOL Campbelltown 16/6/1846: TOL Passport 31/12/1847: CP 1849: Bank Warrant. 24/10/1850: Married Mary Boyd – Yass. They had 10 children. Mary born C1827 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, and died 2/1/1904 aged 77, and was buried at the Tumut Cemetery, NSW. 11/8/1891: Robert died at Bombowlee near Tumut aged 77, and was buried at the Tumut Pioneer Cemetery. At the time of his death he was listed as a 'grazier'. 5/9/1891 Australian Town and Country Journal: Deaths. Besides the late Mr. Josephson, death has recently removed from our midst several old residents, among them being Mr. Robert Lowther, of Bombowlee. The deceased was quite an old hand here, and an industrious, much respected farmer, who left a grown-up family. 24/8/1891 Sydney Morning Herald: Public Notices. IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW SOUTH WALES. PROBATE JURISDICTION. In the Estate of ROBERT LOWTHER, late of Bombowlee, near Tumut, in the colony of New South Wales, Grazier, deceased. APPLICATION will be made after fourteen days from the publication hereof that Administration with Will annexed of the abovenamed deceased may be granted toMARY BOYD LOWTHER, the Widow of the said deceased.
