Married twice. Had 23 children. a very successful and respected Farmer, Land Owner and Draught Horse Breeder in Northern Tasmania. He at different times owned the properties of 'Plenty Farm', 'Cripplegate', 'Westwood House', 'Danbury Park' and 'Vermont'. He attended the 1850's gold rushes in Victoria and married twice, fathering 23 children.
